DA TO CELEBRATE MANDELA DAY

The DA in Pretoria East will celebrate Mandela Day by making a small
difference to the lives of one hundred children at the ABBA Learning Centre
in Mamelodi, by not only donating education equipment and food, but by also
giving at least 67 minutes by attending to maintenance work and painting out
a classroom in order to leave behind a bright and inspiring learning
environment for these children, who can surely use that extra motivation to
persevere in their efforts to improve their personal circumstances.

The ABBA Learning Centre is a symbol of hope amid poverty and despair, where
no fewer than 100 children are educated and fed on a daily basis.

By celebrating an international icon's legacy in this short 67 minutes of
kindness, the DA would like to acknowledge the work done at this education
centre and salute the children's brave commitment to take charge of their
future.

Many stakeholders have supported the DA's Mandela Day 2012 event with
generous donations to make this project a reality. The sense of community
awareness and caring for others is indicative of the nation we can be.
